This man is a disgrace for at least two reasons. First, he should have been the bigger man in this debate. For crying out loud, this is a 60 plus year old man yelling at a punk college student.
Second, the President of the Catholic League fails to heed the words of Jesus, without whom, there would be no Catholic church. From the sermon on the mount:
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you" (Matthew 5:38-42).
Rather than abiding by this sage wisdom, he responded in a way that not only made baby jesus cry, but also let down Abraham lincoln by returning "denunciation with denunciation, crimination with crimination, and anathema with anathema." Man, Bill (not Phil) Donohue was just going bonkers while the other dude's like, "WTF?" and Phil (not Bill) Donohue's all like, "Hey man, don't bring that shit up in here."
